Although it was a bit chilly, Nick and I decided to go to Old Town Shanghai yesterday – at least the sun was out.\u00a0 Of course, when I got off the plane on Tuesday afternoon it was 65 degrees!\u00a0 I shouldn’t complain too much.\u00a0 I am sure it’s warmer here than in Indy.<\/p>\n

We had a great time exploring Yuyuan Gardens, which were created for the old emperor of the Sizhuan province.\u00a0 Lots of interesting rock formations, murky koi ponds, and some greenery.\u00a0 Of course, Nick and I had to laugh that it wasn’t much of an oasis in the middle of the city because you could hear jackhammers and car horns.<\/p>\n

And how could we NOT go through this passage with a title like this?\u00a0 I am a Hoosier so I know corn ears when I see them, and I didn’t see them.<\/div>\n

While the Gardens weren’t too crowded – mostly Japanese tourist groups – the rest of the Old Town was packed with people.\u00a0 I mean, super packed.\u00a0 There were some places were we just put our heads down and plowed through.\u00a0 Thanks to our strong and larger-than-Chinese American bodies, we were able to muddle through.\u00a0 And, luckily, the dumpling shops were busy, but no one was at the Dairy Queen except for us!<\/p>\n
